Sudhir Choudhrie Gives Back to Humanity with Gratitude

More than 20 years ago, the famous TV doctor Mehmet Oz performed a heart transplant procedure on a high-profile British-Indian business mogul.

Now, more than two decades later, Sudhir Choudhrie enjoys the status of being among the longest-surviving heart transplant recipients in the world. After a lifetime of stellar achievements in the world of business, Choudhrie believes his victory over serious heart disease may be his greatest legacy.

Born in Delhi in 1949, Sudhir Choudhrie was diagnosed with a serious heart condition at the tender age of eight during a routine physical exam. His doctor told his mother that her son would face a lifetime of difficulty due to a malfunctioning heart valve.

This frightening news came on top of the recent and tragic death of Sudhir’s father.

None of the adversity stopped Sudhir Choudhrie from going on with his life in a robust manner and pursuing his dreams of entrepreneurship. He grew up and enrolled at the University of Delhi.

After earning a degree in economics and finance, Sudhir Choudhrie set out to make his name in the world of business. A self-starter, he formed a new company to trade electronic components between the U.K. and India. It was a fast success.

In 1975, Sudhir established the Magnum International Trading Company. That firm still operates today after undergoing a number of evolutions throughout its tenure.

Choudhrie makes his home in London but retains dual citizenship with the U.K. and India. Industry observers place his personal net worth in the billions. After his experience surviving two heart attacks and numerous other illnesses associated with a bad heart, Sudhir does not take his new state of health for granted.

He also gives generously to medical research and other programs to help others facing heart disease. It’s his way of giving back to humanity with gratitude.
