Who Is Dough Haynes?

DoughDoug Haynes is a philanthropist, managing director of Council Advisers, formerly known as G100, an advisor to public and private enterprises, and president of The Council.

He attended West Virginia University, studied mechanical engineering, and graduated summa cum laude. He later joined the Darden Graduate School of Business and was a Sheremet Scholar.

Before his current position, Doug Haynes worked at Point72 Asset Management, a well-known and one of the first equity hedge funds across the United States, where he served as the president. He remained in the company for four years, during which he outperformed his competitors, launched the company’s venture capital department, and restored the founder’s SEC license.

Before that, Haynes worked at McKinsey & Company, where he served for 22 years since 1992. While there, he played a significant role in building the company’s practices in Operations, Basic Materials, and High Tech.

He also led the global operations practice and the Northeast region of the United States. Haynes was also a member of the company’s London, Atlanta, New York, and Connecticut offices.

Before going to business school, Haynes worked as a marketing professional and design engineer for GE’s Plastics Business Group. He was also in the US Central Intelligence Agency, where he worked as a software developer.

Doug Haynes participates in education, veterans’ support, and poverty-fighting initiatives for his philanthropic efforts. He is part of the Cohen Veterans Bioscience, Cohen veteran’s Network, and The Center for Global Enterprise as a founding board member.

The Center for Global Enterprise is a non-profit organization that promotes effective leadership across global businesses. He is also a board advisor at Cohen Veteran’s Bioscience.

Haynes is also on the board of Georgia-based Camp Southern Ground and New York-based Robin Hood Foundation. He is also an advisor on the boards of several technology startup companies like Swiss ChainIQ, Swedish FRISQ, Obsidian Asset Management, and Vega factor.

In addition to that, he is an active board member/ advisor to Garden Graduate School of Business, Singtel Corporation, the Canterbury School, Villanova University, and Randolph Macon Academy.

He is also a Rising Starr Equine Rescue board member, owns the Fountain Inn Bed and Breakfast, and is the T2X Rehabilitation and Functional Mobility founder. Haynes lives in Scarborough, New York, with his wife and five children.
